Instructions

    • 1

Remove the contents of your pantry so it can be organized. Clean the pantry, ridding it of dust and debris.

    • 2

Arrange the pantry so that the largest, heaviest items are at the bottom level. Place jars, cans and large bags of grain, potatoes and onions here.

    • 3

Line the level above the lowest with the largest of your selection of baskets. Choose only low profile baskets so that you can get the items from them with ease. These baskets should contain items that are similar to the ones on the floor, such as smaller bags of potatoes, onions, garlic, beans, rice and assorted pastas.

    • 4

Arrange the items you most frequently use in baskets at eye level, remembering only to use low profile baskets for convenience. Items you use every day may include salt, pepper, frequently used spices, powdered mixes and sauce packets.

    • 5

Arrange the remaining shelves above eye level with baskets containing items you don't frequently use. For instance, if you only occasionally bake, place baking ingredients such as chocolate chips, sugar and flour canisters, graham crackers and other assorted baking materials on these shelves.

    • 6

Use a label maker tool to label the fronts of the baskets for your convenience. This step is optional, but it allows you to further organize your pantry.
