Plant your bridal wreath plants in the spring or fall in an area that gets full sun exposure, or at least four to five hours of sunlight throughout the day. Multiple plants should be spaced out 6 to 8 feet apart. If the soil is in poor condition, water it and add compost before putting the plants in the ground.
Dig the holes as deep as the height of the root balls, and as wide as three of the root balls. Set a plant in each hole and then fill the hole halfway with soil. Pack the soil down and water generously. Finish filling the hole with soil and create a raised wall around the plant with the dirt. Water the plant again, with the wall holding the water in. This allows the water to be absorbed by the roots of the plants, instead of surrounding dirt.
Monitor your plants throughout the season for pests, such as aphids, and growth. Regular watering isn't necessary, unless rainfall is less than 1 inch in the warmer months, or if the plants seem malnourished.
Spread a layer of compost around the base of your bridal wreath shrubs out to the drip line, or branch length each spring. Go over the compost with mulch to hold moisture into the ground.
Prune the trees after each flowering to control size and shape. Some bridal wreath plants will flower twice a year.
