How to Kill Yellow Woodsorrel

Oxalis corniculata -- or yellow woodsorrel -- is a highly invasive flowering weed that, because of its heavy root structure, will choke the life out of almost any type of plant it shares dirt with. This weed cannot be controlled without the use of herbicides, again thanks to its pervasive root structure. Even then, most herbicides will not be able to adequately control the weed.

Instructions

    • 1

Mix a concentrated batch of Trimec herbicide in your sprayer.

    • 2

Spray the herbicide mixture on every visible Wood Sorrel leaf.

    • 3

Reapply the Trimec herbicide to the woodsorrel every two to three days until the weed dies off. This will take several repeated applications due to the hardiness of this particular plant.
