Shake the contents of the tightly closed container vigorously to mix.
Measure 3 1/2 tablespoons of concentrated root starter for every gallon of mixed solution you desire. Add the measured root starter to the bucket and fill it with 1 gallon of tepid water.
Dig the planting hole for the plant and place it into the hole at the proper depth for the plant. Do not cover the roots with soil yet.
Pour 1 pint of diluted root starter over the exposed roots for small plants and flowers. Pour 3 pints of diluted root starter over the roots of medium-size shrubs and bushes. Use 1 gallon of diluted root starter for trees, shrubs and plants more than 4 feet tall.
Fill the hole with soil completely and tamp the soil down firmly with your hands. Water the soil thoroughly immediately after you finish planting the plants.
