Instructions

    • 1

Select a planting location. The Yesterday Today and Tomorrow plant grows best in part shade to part sun, in U.S. Department of Agriculture zones 9 to 11. The soil should be loamy -- soil that holds moisture but does not become muddy -- and slightly acidic. Add an acidic fertilizer and loamy soil mixture if necessary to your garden.

    • 2

Dig a hole twice the size of the base of the plant. This ensures the Yesterday Today and Tomorrow plant has enough soft soil to root.

    • 3

Place the plant in the ground. Make sure all of the roots have been adequately covered and are protected from any foot traffic.

    • 4

Water your plant, but make sure not to overwater. If the water is not absorbed by the soil within 10 seconds, you are watering the plant too much, which can cause the leaves to turn a yellowish color and eventually die.

    • 5

Prune the plant in the spring and early fall. They can grow to be 10 feet tall, but can be pruned back to 3 feet for small gardens.
