Iris Peach Color Varieties

If you are planning a garden and have a particular color scheme in mind, you need to know which kinds of irises bloom in different colors. Specific varieties may have slightly different color patterns or shades, and may bloom at different times of year. There may also be color differences between the petals and the beard, which is the appendage on the lower petal of the flower.
  1. Large Bearded Iris

    • The large bearded iris, also referred to as the tall bearded iris, is one type of Iris that comes in peach tones. The petals are a light peach color with an orange beard. According to the Local Harvest website, this plant blooms reliably and will bloom year after year. It needs full sunlight to flourish. Large bearded irises grow to be approximately 2 to 4 feet.

    Tiger Honey Iris

    • The tiger honey iris is another specific variety of iris that blooms in peach hue. Unlike other irises that might be solid in color, the tiger honey is a mix of several shades: butterscotch, bronze, yellow and apricot, which results in a peach hue. Its name comes from the striped color pattern on its petals. This iris begins blooming in early mid-season.

    German Bearded Iris

    • The Orange King Iris is a type of German Bearded Iris that comes in a solid amber-orange shade. The beards are a bright tangerine color. This iris blooms mid-season and does well in full or moderate sunlight. This particular variety grows to be 40 inches tall and produces 6 to 9 buds per plant.

    Tall Bearded Iris

    • The tall bearded iris comes in a variety called Apricot Dance With Plum. This flower is two-toned, with the upper petals blooming in a peach shade and the lower petals blooming in a purple shade. The beard is bright orange. Tall bearded irises are considered especially hardy plants.
