Instructions

get your vanilla orchid cutting. You can get this cutting off of any vanilla plant. Plants can be found on eBay, a reputable plant dealer, or your local gardens (in green house). When taking a cutting make sure there is at least one node and leaf on the stem.

no matter what cutting you have, make sure that the part that is going into the water is cut cleanly under running water at a 45 degree angle. cutting it under water allows the cells to remain open to take in water and by cutting it at an angle gives the plant more surface area to root. If not cut under water some of the transport cells that uptake water to the plant may close not allowing it to root.

put water into a small water tight container or a pill bottle, mix a pinch of miracle grow or liquid fertilizer and place your cutting end in the water. Leave for 10 days. In 10 days there should be a root. Once a root is formed place your cutting in your pot filled with dirt. Place small trellis in the dirt next to plant to allow it to grow along it. Leave in a humid area such as your bathroom and with at least 50% light
