Lay the cork bark flat on a table. Determine which is the top part of the mount. Which way you orient the mount depends on how you want it to look when hanging.
Screw the eyebolt into the top or the top center of the back of the cork mount. You can use a threaded hook instead of an eyebolt, depending on how you intend to hang the orchid later. Smaller eyebolts and cup hooks work better than larger ones because they screw in easier.
Lay the ghost orchid on the front of the cork bark, centered, with the green side of the roots facing up. Arrange the plant so that the roots conform to contours of the bark as much as possible.
Wrap a loop of fishing line around one end of the cork and tie it off. Do not cut the fishing line from the spool yet. Leave enough extra line on your knot to tie off the spool end of the line later.
Hold on to the spool and wrap the fishing line around the bark and over the roots of the ghost orchid so that they are securely held against the slab. Be careful to not wrap the line too tightly because it may cut through the roots.
Continue to wrap until most of the main roots are securely pressed against the bark. Work from the end with the first knot down to the opposite end of the mount, and then wrap back up to the knot.
Tie off the fishing line with the remaining extra line from the first knot. Cut the line from the spool, and then trim the ends on the knot.
