Water your potted Brother Supersonic orchid plant carefully, thoroughly wetting the sphagnum moss or mixture in which it is planted only when it is quite dry, about once a week. Check to ensure that the pot has adequate drainage which does not allow the orchid to sit with its feet wet.
Maintain an ambient temperature around the orchid plant which does not vary more than 15 degrees Fahrenheit from day to night while the plant is in bloom. Ensure that the plant receives a long day of diffuse, filtered light without getting too close to a window that gets cold at night.
Repot the Brother Supersonic orchid in a slightly larger pot after it has ceased blooming. Place several rocks in the bottom of your new pot. Remove the orchid plant from its old pot and gently remove and discard the sphagnum moss or potting mixture from the plant's roots. Mix one part charcoal, one part perlite and one part wood chips. Hold the orchid plant with the base of its leaves 1/2 inch from the top of the pot and fill the pot with the charcoal planting mixture.
Water your newly repotted orchid so that the potting mixture is thoroughly wet and allow excess water to drain out of the pot. Tap the pot to help settle the potting mixture and add additional mixture if necessary to keep the roots of the plants sufficiently covered.
Place the newly repotted orchid in a shady spot and allow it to experience nighttime temperatures that remain well above freezing, but more than 15 degrees Fahrenheit cooler than daytime temperatures, in order to encourage the next season's blooms. Continue to water when the potting mix dries out. Bring the plant indoors if frost threatens, and return it to even temperatures and diffuse lighting when a new flower stem emerges.
