How to Get Jasmine to Bloom Indoors

The star-shaped flowers will appear consistently if the plant is well-cultivated and receiving enough light and moisture. With regular watering and fertilizer treatments, jasmine plants will stay healthy and continue to bring beauty and a pleasant aroma to indoor spaces.

Instructions

    • 1

Place the jasmine pot on top of a shallow tray. Indoor jasmine should be grown in a 3-gallon pot with well-drained potting soil.

    • 2

Water jasmine weekly to moisten the soil and encourage blooming. Remove any excess water that appears in the tray.

    • 3

Spread 1 tsp. of organic fertilizer lightly over the soil once a month to encourage flowering and bud growth. Water deeply following a fertilizer treatment.

    • 4

Place the pot in full sunlight during spring and summer. When the buds are forming and blooming, jasmine needs heavy, direct light.

    • 5

Move the jasmine to a location with indirect light in fall and winter, when blossoms are not forming.

    • 6

Prune with shears after the jasmine blooms in spring to encourage new growth and bud formation.
