How to Install a Glass Lens in a Sungro Fixture

A Sungro fixture is one of many types of light source/reflectors manufactured by Sunlight Supply. Hang a Sungro fixture in any greenhouse or other indoor horticultural effort to provide plants the required amount of light needed for optimal growth. The Sungro is a deep tray-shaped casing with an interior socket and silver reflective coating. Glass lenses are available for installation across the bottom of the fixture to protect both the high intensity bulb and the silver reflective coating inside the unit from dust and dirt. The glass lens also reduces heat emissions so you can hang your light closer to your plants.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn the Sungro reflector off if it is in use and unplug the fixture. Allow the metal to cool.

    • 2

Angle the flat glass lens into the bottom of the Sungro reflector, inserting one corner first and sliding the lens into the end of the fixture to allow the opposite corner to fit up into the fixture.

    • 3

Press the black rubber gaskets, if provided with the lens for your particular Sungro reflector, between the glass and the bottom rim that runs around the bottom of the reflector where the glass will rest.

Center the glass inside the unit and lower it onto the gasket.
