How to Grow Little Marvel Peas Indoors

Fill the bottom of the container with 1 inch of gravel to improve drainage.

Fill the container to within 3 inches of its rim with commercial potting soil.

Place Little Marvel pea seeds on the surface of the soil. Place two seeds, roughly 3 inches apart in the center of each 14-inch diameter container. For large, long potting containers, plant seeds in these pairs at 12-inch intervals.

Cover the seeds with 2 inches of potting soil.

Move the Little Marvel's container to a spot where it has access to indirect sunlight and where temperatures remain between 45 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit. An unheated garage or a spot near a balcony in cool weather is ideal. The cooler the temperatures, the more readily the Little Marvel pea seeds germinate.

Water the container until moisture seeps out of the drainage holes in the pot. Water in this fashion whenever the top few inches of the soil begin to dry out until the Little Marvel peas germinate in one to two weeks. After the Little Marvel peas germinate, water only when the top third of the soil in the container dries out.

Move the container to direct sunlight once the Little Marvel seedlings emerge.

Cut the smallest of the pair of Little Marvel seedlings off at soil level if both seeds germinate.

Fertilize the Little Marvel seedlings once they emerge. Use a commercial low-nitrogen houseplant fertilizer. Follow the label's instructions for application methods, and use half the amount recommended for seedlings of your Little Marvel's size. Water the Little Marvel after each fertilizer application until water drips out of the drainage holes in the bottom of the container. Fertilize once every four weeks until the Little Marvel pea plant flowers.
