How to Cure Wilting Basil

Basil is an herb used fresh in recipes from many different cultures. Typically, basil is added as the final ingredient in a dish because it turns bitter when cooked. Many people mistakenly believe the best way to store basil is in the refrigerator, but actually this causes the herbs to prematurely wilt. If you find your basil withered in the refrigerator after a couple of days, you can revive the leaves and continue to cook with them.
