Uses for Dried Up Lavender Buds

The lavender flowers can be dried and removed from the leaves and stalk. Lavender essential oil is made from the flowers. Varieties of lavender grow in most temperate climates, with the strongest variety growing above 3000 ft.
  1. Hicote Buds

    • These have a deep blue color and are used as decorations in sachets at weddings and in the home.

    Munstead Buds

    • This variety of lavender is known for its fragrance. The aromatherapy of this variety will last for years.

    Eye pillows

    • Lavender buds can be mixed with rice or flax seed in a small eye pillow for rest and meditation.

    Teas

    • Lavender buds have a strong aroma that can be used in teas. Mix the lavender buds with mint or citrus for calming and easy digesting.

    Bathing

    • The lavender herb has a history of use as a washing agent in the bath. Its aromatherapy has a sedative effect.
