Information on Green Mint Leaves

Young mint leaves are used for a variety of purposes. Mint should be used fresh from the garden if possible, but can be dried and stored in an air-tight container for later use.
  1. Growing Mint

    • Mint is a popular perennial herb that grows quickly and requires much water. It can reach 3 feet in height, and is considered invasive. The leaves from this herb may be picked for use throughout the summer.

    Culinary Uses

    • Mint leaves are used to color some foods and to enhance others. They are used in soups and stews, as well as in mint sauces. Teas are also made using green mint leaves.

    Medicinal Uses

    • Heated as a tea, or even in milk for children, green or dried mint leaves can be used for medicinal purposes. Mint helps many stomach ailments such as cramping and nausea. It can also help to aid digestion.
