What is the Tincture of Black Walnut Used For?

Black walnut tincture is made by extracting the herbal properties of the husks, inner bark leaves and nuts into a alcohol or glycerin base that preserves the extract for up to a year. The tincture treats a variety of symptoms, internally and externally.
  1. Internally

    • Black walnut tincture helps the digestive system and is a mild laxative. The antiparasitic properties are particularly beneficial to cleansing the body of pinworms.

    Externally

    • Tincture of black walnut is used externally to treat bruising, herpes, warts, poison ivy and fungal infections. The tincture is also beneficial in healing throat and mouth sores.

    Cautions

    • Black walnut tincture is too strong for young children or infants. Do not give the tincture internally to children under 12. The tincture is not recommended for use for longer than seven consecutive days.
