Neem Leaves

Neem leaves come from the neem tree, commonly found in southern Asia and used widely in ayurvedic medicine. The botanical name, Azadirachta indica, comes from the Persian word meaning "noble tree."
  1. Description

    • Neem leaves grow on large evergreen trees reaching 40 to 50 feet tall. The leaves are dense and resemble feathers. Small white flowers appear next to the leaves in the spring.

    Cosmetic Uses

    • A concentrated decoction from neem leaves helps prevent hair loss when it's used as a rinse. It's also beneficial for skin disorders such as boils.

    Insecticidal Use

    • Neem leaves are high in insecticidal properties. The dried leaves are often used in storage areas, added to crops and made into insect repellent.
