Seeds require consistent moisture to grow. Seeds do not sprout or that dry out will go dormant. Once the seeds begin receiving moisture and proper growing conditions, the seeds will germinate.
Red clover grows well from seed in consistently moist soil either in the wild or as field crops. The plants produce rose-purple and white flower heads containing tiny seeds.
Red clover flowers produce new seeds that fall and drop from the plant as the flowers die or because of weather conditions. The seeds spread and, depending on weather conditions, will remain dormant until the following growing season.
