Granulated garlic is relatively inexpensive and available in bulk sections of many grocery stores. It is a natural and effective alternative to commercially manufactured chemical products, and is safe to use around children and pets.
Sprinkle granulated garlic on cooked foods, or fill in capsules, to take it internally. Mosquitoes and fleas do not like the strong taste of garlic in the blood and will not bite if they sense it. For pets, sprinkle granulated garlic on pet food, or mix one part granulated garlic with five parts arrowroot powder and apply the mixture to the pet's coat. That mix can also be applied to parts of a lawn. Add garlic granules to the compost of potted plants, or sprinkle some on the top layer of soil.
Use garlic granules internally on a daily basis to keep the garlic consistently in the blood stream. Pet, carpet and lawn use is most effective when used on a weekly or bi-monthly basis. Using the granulated garlic on carpets and pets may leave a minimal, lingering garlic smell.
