You can grow mint along walkways, porches or clothes lines to add a fresh scent. Also, you can allow the mint to overhang areas that you walk or hang a sprig of mint in your car, house or workspace. If the scent begins to fade, crush the leaves slightly. Replace the sprig of mint when it dries.
Plant mint near windows, doors or garden to deter moths, ants, aphids and flea beetles. Mint grows well alongside most plants. Mint can be grown in gardens, window boxes or pots. Keep an eye on the growth of the mint, as it grows quite rapidly. Trim back when necessary.
Add fresh mint leaves to your bath, in place of bath salts or bubble bath solutions, for a pleasant, relaxing aroma. Soak crushed mint leaves in warm water for about an hour, strain and then use the liquid as a face wash. Mint helps to clean the skin and invigorate pores.
You can place a fresh mint leave in each compartment of an ice cube tray. As the ice cube melts in a drink, the refreshing minty flavor will be released. You can also crush a fresh mint leaf slightly and add it directly to a drink. If you are adding mint leaves to food or beverages, wash the leaves thoroughly with clean water.
