How to Grind Sunflower Seeds for Omega 3

Add a dash of healthy fats to your diet with natural omega fatty acids found in seeds. Sunflower seeds contain 11.75 grams of omega 6 and 0.02 grams of omega 3 per 1/4 cup serving, according to World's Healthiest Foods website. This means that sunflower seeds are a better source of omega 6 fatty acids than omega 3. While both omega 3 and omega 6 are healthy, The Guardian newspaper points out that too much omega 6 in a diet can result in physical maladies. To balance this out, combine your sunflower seeds with linseeds, also known as flaxseeds, which are high in omega 3, and almonds to get a balanced combination of healthy fats.
