How to Apply Epsom Salt to Roses

Epsom salt has been used by gardeners for generations as a fertilizer for roses and many other plants. Applying Epsom salt is a natural way to fertilize your roses, because it contains hydrated magnesium sulfate. Roses are heavy feeders of magnesium, an element that most soils lack. Magnesium helps to improve the rosebush’s ability to absorb nitrogen, phosphorus and sulfur as well as strengthen cell walls. When sprayed on the rosebush, sulfur provides a line of defense against fungal ,which can turn the leaves black on your rosebush. Sulfur helps the rosebush to produce vitamins, amino acids and enzymes necessary to grow healthy.
