Instructions

  1. Propagating Roses

    • 1

Do your rose cuttings in the morning and always cut from the bottom of the bush. Spray the anti-desiccant on the stem and leaves and let it dry.

    • 2

When making your cut, make it so you are going toward the bush. The cutting should be about 6 inches long. Shave about 1 inch off one side of the cutting, preferable from the side you made the cut.

    • 3

Dip the end of the cutting in the rooting powder.

    • 4

Fill the Mason jar with soil mix with 50 percent perlite and plant the rose cutting 2 inches deep. Keep the soil moist with warm water, but not soggy. It's also wise to keep it warm with the warming mat set at 72 degrees Fahrenhiet. You'll know when the cutting has grown roots when you see leaves and growth, which usually takes approximately four to eight weeks.
