Are Orange Roses Natural or Fake?

Between the colors of yellow and red lies orange. In roses, the color orange was achieved through the careful selective breeding of wild yellow roses with domestic red roses beginning more than 100 years ago. Today, modern roses in colors of orange ranging from peach, golden and salmon to vibrant sunset-colored blends are available as cut roses or for any landscape situation requiring naturally colored orange roses. As gifts, orange roses symbolize enthusiasm and desire.

  1. Hybrid Tea Roses

    • Natural orange florist's roses are bred on long cutting stems.

Fragrant Cloud is an intensely fragrant hybrid tea rose in deep, vibrant natural orange. It blooms through the summer on a 4- to 5-foot-tall plant. A tall hybrid tea with peachy-orange blossoms is Sunset Celebration. Just Joey has fragrant, pale orange blossoms on a 3- to 4-foot-tall plant. Floribunda Roses

    • Floribunda roses bloom in clusters of flowers and are available in natural orange colors.

Floribunda roses are generally shorter than shrub roses and produce clusters of blooms throughout the growing season. Floribundas are very effective planted in groups of three or more or grown as low hedges along walkways.
