Prepare a planting plot for the night blooming jasmine. The plot should be in a location that offers partial to full sunlight and should consist of soil that pH that is neutral to alkaline.
Turn the soil with a pitchfork, breaking-up any large chunks to create a finer planting medium. Measure the pH of the plot with a soil test kit. Such tests are readily available in garden centers.
Add lime to the soil if the pH test reveals a pH below 7.0, which is neutral. Follow the instructions on the lime product’s packaging label, which will tell you how much to use and how to add it to the soil based on your soil test.
Plant the night blooming jasmine seeds when outdoor temperatures reach a constant 75 degrees Fahrenheit. Press the seeds 1/8 inch into the soil 12 inches apart. Pat the soil.
Mist the soil lightly with water from a garden hose. Maintain moist soil for the duration of germination, which could require as little time as two weeks or as much as six weeks. You will notice little green sprouts poking through the soil when germination occurs.
