Plant Chinese fleece flower in an area of your garden that receives full sun, preferably near a trellis, arbor or fence to provide the vine a surface it can climb. Do not plant it near trees, other vines or shrubs, as its quick growth can make it invasive. Keep the plant site at least 3 to 4 feet away from other vegetation. Choose an area with well-drained soil that receives full sun for best results.
Cultivate the soil in your chosen site with a garden spade or fork. Work the soil between1 and 16 inches deep and dig a hole in the loosened soil that is slightly larger than the plant's root ball. Place the roots into the hole, then fill it with dirt and press the soil firmly with your spade.
Water the vine once or twice weekly for the first two weeks following planting, then once weekly until the plant is established. Once established, the plant is drought-tolerant and will most likely require rainfall only for its watering needs.
Use pieces of string to tie the vine to its trellis or other support system as it grows.
