How to Grow Pimenta Racemosa

Pimenta racemosa, or bay rum, is native to the Caribbean and South America. The plant is harvested for its oils, which are used in perfume, aftershave and other scented products. In the U.S., amateur gardeners can grow the tree in their backyard. Because of its tropical origins, however, it will only grow where there is never danger of freezing temperatures. Any temperature below freezing will cause severe damage to the plant.
