Description

• Corn gluten meal is obtained from the processing of corn syrup and corn starch and is a rich source of protein. Corn gluten meal has 10 percent of slow release nitrogen that fertilizes lawn when used as a weed and feed source.

Targeted Weeds

• Used as a pre-emergence herbicide, corn gluten meal controls many annual weeds including crabgrass. According Mellor, the use of corn gluten meal reduces crabgrass growth up to 50 to 60 percent in the first year and up to 98 percent by the second year. In four years of use, it eradicates dandelions entirely.
