Put your geranium seedlings on a sunny windowsill so they get at least four hours of sunlight per day. If this is not possible, place the seedlings under a fluorescent light. Keep the light about 1 foot above the seedlings.
Water the soil only when it feels dry. Geranium seedlings are susceptible to root rot, so if you water too frequently, they die. This is also true for mature geranium plants.
Keep the indoor temperature between 65 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit. During cooler days, open a window to achieve the proper temperature.
Add water-soluble fertilizer as the seedling grows, usually after three months. If the seedling is planted in poor soil, fertilize sooner.
Transplant the geranium seedling when it outgrows the container. Put it in a slightly larger container, or plant it outdoors in your garden after the last frost occurs in your area.
