Instructions

    • 1

Choose an area of your garden that receives full sun to plant Crepis rubra. Spade the soil to break up chunks, after the last frost date.

      .

    • 2

Rake the soil to smooth it. Water it with your garden hose.

    • 3

Sow the Crepis rubra seeds 1 foot a part. Use two to three seeds per planting spot. This offers a better chance that at least one seed per area will germinate, ensuring an even look to the flower site.

    • 4

Cover the seeds with 1/8 inch of soil. Keep the seeds moist.

    • 5

Keep these flowers well watered as they grow. Give the flowers 1 inch of water once a week, at the minimum. If you live in a hot, dry climate, expect to water more frequently to keep Crepis rubra alive. Check the flowers daily and poke a spoon or your finger down in the soil 1 inch. If it is dry, water the flowers.

Fertilize these flowers with a water-soluble flower fertilizer monthly, or as often as the fertilizer instructions indicate. Apply the fertilizer to the ground around the flowers, avoiding the foliage.
