How to Grow White Turtlehead

White turtlehead is a very rare version of the turtlehead plant that produces beautiful luxurious blooms perennially. This plant is native to North America and is commonly found in the Northeast. White turtlehead is fairly easy to grow and does not need too much extra care. The plant should grow to maturation in two to three months.

      Plant the seeds in a rich soil mix about 1/4 inch deep in the late spring season. The seeds can be planted either in a pot or in an outdoor flower bed. The seeds must be exposed to partial sunlight.

      Water the seeds regularly. Whenever the soil is dry, water it generously as turtleheads love moisture. In a few weeks, you should begin to see a sprout. After two to three months, the plant should reach maturation and you will get your first bloom in late August Expect a second bloom later in the fall. The plant will not flower in winter.

      Continue to water the plant through the winter. The turtlehead is a very hardy plant and should last through the cold season. Once late summer comes again, you should see new blooms.
