How to Grow Sweet Potatoes in Grass Clippings

Sweet potatoes are a warm weather crop; they thrive in moist, hot soil with rich organic matter. If your soil is poor or you just want to add an extra boost, you can use grass clippings. Growing sweet potatoes in grass clippings involves tilling the clippings into your garden soil to increase available nutrients and then using more clippings as mulch to keep the soil moist. Grass clipping mulch will also keep weed growth to a minimum.
