Measure the available space with a landscaping tape measure. This will give you the overall length and width of the maze.
Draw out the overall space on a sheet of graph paper, using a pencil. Write down the area's length and width measurements. Plan out the maze's design on the graph paper. Leave 24 to 36 inches for the pathways through the maze.
Spray paint the maze's outline onto the ground. Use the graph paper as a guide as you spray the maze's paths. You don't need to be exact, but it does help to follow your drawing closely.
Till the soil between the paths with a tiller to prepare the soil for planting. Make sure the soil is loose. Compacted soil may require a couple passes with the tiller.
Plant two to three seeds of corn 2 inches deep and 15 to 16 inches apart, in rows 24 to 36 inches apart, in the tilled areas of the maze. Water the planted areas thoroughly.
Keep the corn weeded throughout the growing season using a hoe. Mow the paths regularly so you can walk through the maze at all times to care for the corn.
