Choose a place to plant your sweet corn in full sun. Wait until mid-spring to plant your corn. The soil should be warm to the touch. Anasazi sweet corn loves warm, semi-arid weather.
Push your motorized tiller about 6 inches into the ground at the edge of your garden space. Push the tiller along slowly, churning up the soil until it's loose and crumbly. Add about 5 lbs. of mature compost per 100 square feet to the top of the garden and till it into the soil.
Drop your corn seeds about 4 inches apart into rows about 6 inches from each other. Cover the seeds gently with soil. Do not pack down.
Water the soil until it is moist, but not soggy. Anasazi sweet corn loves moist, well-drained soil. Water when the soil feels dry on top, or every three days. Mulch with mature compost about once a month to help hold in moisture and encourage sweetness.
