Select a florist or flower company. Online companies are ideal for sending the cactus because all you need to do is fill in the address where you want to send it; the florist will pack it for safe travel.
Pick out your preferred white Schlumbergera plant. For example, select "White Christmas" or "Thor Britta" from the available options. Add the plant to your online shopping cart.
Go to the payment options. Pay by credit card or through PayPal, depending on the website.
Fill in the address where you want the plant to arrive.
Complete the order. Confirm the order and payment as well as the address information.
Remove the cactus from the pot, and break up and remove the soil. When you are sending a plant through the mail, you want to avoid sending the plant with soil or a pot, which will add weight. Wrap the roots in a moist paper towel.
Wrap the paper towel and roots with plastic wrap so the roots are snugly wrapped. This helps protect the roots of your plants.
Cover the cactus from root to flowered tip with newspaper. Wrap the newspaper around the cactus starting at the root and working to the tip of the flower. Tuck it around the bottom and top so the entire plant is surrounded by newspaper. Label the flower, and put it in a box full of packing peanuts.
Close the box, tape it closed and write the address where you are sending the plant. Write your address in small lettering in the top left corner as a return address. Write "Live Plants" on the box for the shipping company. This will minimize rough handling.
Ship the box. Send it overnight or express mail so that the cactus will arrive alive and whole. While cactus are hardy, leaving it too long in the box will result in the death of the White Christmas plant.
