Dig one post hole at each end of the boysenberry patch. If the holes are more than 20 feet apart, dig an additional hole in the center of the patch for a third post. Make the holes 2 feet deep.
Sink a 7 foot piece of post into each end post hole. Install post braces according to the manufacturer's instructions, which vary with brand. If you needed the center post, sink a 6-foot, 2-by-2 grape stake into that hole and install an additional brace.
Tie a piece of 9-gauge wire to the first end post, 24 inches from the ground. Use a staple gun to staple the wire in place. Run the wire around the center post, if applicable, and then staple it to the far post.
Run a second wire 18 inches above the first and a third 18 inches above that. Secure each wire to the posts with staples.
