The Arapaho blackberry plant is self-supporting, so it does not need a trellis. Its berries ripen earlier than any other thornless variety of blackberry plant, beginning in early June (and lasting about four weeks).
Arapaho blackberries come in colorful reds and blacks. The plant begins bearing the fruit after two years, and yields about 2 to 4 qts. of berries per vine. The berries tend to weigh about 5 g each.
This deciduous blackberry plant grows to a mature height of 4 to 5 feet and can spread from 4 to 7 feet if it gets full sun exposure.
