The Maturing Size of Arapaho Blackberries

The Arapaho blackberry is a thornless and erect plant. It produces medium- to large-size berries that are firm and sweet. One of the plant's notable characteristics is the berry's small seed size.
  1. Early Ripening

    • The Arapaho blackberry plant is self-supporting, so it does not need a trellis. Its berries ripen earlier than any other thornless variety of blackberry plant, beginning in early June (and lasting about four weeks).

    Ripe Berries

    • Arapaho blackberries come in colorful reds and blacks. The plant begins bearing the fruit after two years, and yields about 2 to 4 qts. of berries per vine. The berries tend to weigh about 5 g each.

    How Tall Does It Grow?

    • This deciduous blackberry plant grows to a mature height of 4 to 5 feet and can spread from 4 to 7 feet if it gets full sun exposure.
