How to Peel Strawberries to Get Rid of the Seeds

Strawberries are low in calories and contain healthy nutrients such as Vitamin C and beta Carotene. The seeds are located on the outside of the strawberry. Users remove the seeds for planting purposes or to use them in recipes. The seeds are removed with a paring knife, and then they can be cleaned and dried if you wish to plant them.

Instructions

    • 1

Wash the strawberries under cool running water.

    • 2

Cut or pull the green top off the strawberries to remove it.

    • 3

Hold a single strawberry in one hand. Run a paring knife along the outside of the strawberry to carefully strip away the outer layer. Cut each strawberry just deep enough to strip the seeds on that outer layer.

    • 4

Rinse the strawberries under cool water. Dry them off with paper towels.

    • 5

Store the strawberries in airtight containers. Discard the seeds if you do not wish to keep them, or store them in a separate airtight container.
