      Plant them 2 to 3 inches apart in a row. Pole beans need one pole per plant for support. You can also run the beans up a trellis for support.

      Lima beans take 65 to 90 days to mature. Snap beans mature in 50 to 70 days. After harvesting beans can be eaten immediately, or preserved for later use by drying, canning, or freezing.
