How to Grow Pinto Beans With Paper Towels

Pinto beans need to be germinated indoors before you can plant them outdoors. Germinating the seeds allows the seeds to grow properly after you plant them. Sprout the beans by wrapping them in paper towels, and storing them in a dark and warm location. Harvest the beans within six to eight weeks when the pots appear plump and green in color.

Dig a hole in well-drained soil ¼ inch deep. Plant one pinto bean into the hole, and space them ½ inch apart from each other. Cover the roots of the beans with the soil and pack it down tightly.
