How to Dry String Beans to Reuse the Seeds

String bean is another name for snap bean. When growing string beans in your garden, you can designated a portion of your crop for next year's planting. This works best with open-pollinated varieties. Seeds taken from hybrids will produce less-consistent results. Since the parent plant is the product of two varieties, its offspring might be significantly different in quality than the plant that offered up the seeds.
