Start from seed in spring in the garden after the last chance of frost. Choose a place in the garden, or a container, with good sun and sandy, well-drained soil.
When your plant is young, fertilize it frequently with a fertilizer containing phosphorus to encourage good root development. Make sure you check the label and apply only the amount recommended.
Once the plant is well-established, do not use too much water or fertilizer or the plant to be too bushy and will have fewer blooms.
The plant will grow to 2 feet and can be up to 3 feet wide. In zones where the bush can be grown as a perennial, it is best to prune it heavily in the late fall to encourage the plant to renew itself.
Bush morning glories are hardy in zones 8 to10. Like morning glory vines, bush morning glory will sometimes seed itself in the garden. This bush can become invasive in some climates and soils.
