Can You Grow the Diamond Frost Flower From Seed?

Euphorbia 'Diamond Frost' is a trademark varietal name for a selection of Euphorbia hypericifolia or graminea. It was introduced in 2005 by Proven Winners, a plant marketing brand owned by three wholesale nurseries. Trademark plants cannot be propagated by seed or other means without permission of the trademark's owner.
  1. Growing From Seed

    • 'Diamond Frost' is an annual euphorbia that sprouts, flowers and sets seeds in one growing year. If the plant is not deadheaded, it may self-seed or it may be possible to collect seeds to start the next season. Given the trademark restrictions, it is advisable to buy plants instead.

    Characteristics

    • This euphorbia is a low, spreading plant, with oval-shape leaves and small, starry white flowers that appear throughout the growing season. It flourishes in full to partial sun and grows to a height of 12 to 18 inches.

    Considerations

    • All euphorbias contain a white, milky, latex-like sap. Exposing skin to this sap may result in skin irritation or contact dermatitis. Wear gloves when pruning or transplanting Euphorbia 'Diamond Frost.'
