How Do I Water My Cissus Amazonica?

Plants in the Cissus genus are vining and, given the opportunity, will eagerly climb and spread to cover a large area. Cissus Amazonica has stringy vines and leaves that are silvery on top and dark pink underneath. The vine, originating from Brazil, prefers a humid and moist environment. Cissus Amazonica loves water, both in its soil and on its leaves. Keeping your Cissus Amazonica watered properly will allow it to live and thrive for many years.

Instructions

    • 1

Water the Cissus Amazonica thoroughly every day in the spring and summer. Keep the soil is moist throughout the day, and do not let it dry out between waterings. During hot temperatures, you may need to water several times a day.

    • 2

Use a spray bottle or hose to mist the leaves of Cissus Amazonica once a day, or more if it is very hot.

    • 3

Decrease watering in the winter or when it starts to get cold outside. In cold temperatures, Cissus Amazonica may die back, reducing the need for frequent watering. Provide light watering once a week until temperatures increase.
