How to Germinate Passiflora Edulis Black Night

Passiflora edulis "Black Knight" is a type of passion fruit vine that bears dark purple fruit. It grows to 30 feet in length with shiny leaves. Black Knight's hybridizer, Patrick Worley, created the cultivar to remain more compact than other passionfruit vines, and it is suited to container growing. Black Knight requires sunshine and warmth and does best when grown in zones 9 through 11 on the U.S. Department of Agriculture Plant Hardiness Zone Map. Fresh seed, right from the fruit, germinates faster than stored seed, according to specialists with California Rare Fruit Growers.
