As the fifth largest wine-producing state, the Texas Department of Agriculture offers wine growing grants that are intended to benefit the growth of the industry in Texas. The grant money, which was still being offered as of June 2011, will go toward viticulture research, oenology education and the implementation of wine tourism in the state.
The Wine Society of Texas offers a scholarship grant program for individuals who are studying oenology and viticulture in educational institutions in Texas, involved with winery internships or working in a field of study in wine making. The mission is to invest in the knowledge of viticulture and increase an awareness and appreciation for the wine industry.
