Fill a flat or pot with a moist, peat-based commercial seed starting mix. These types of mixes more closely mimic the woodsy soil the seed finds in nature, and also help avoid seed and seedling fungal diseases that are common when seeds are planted in soil.
Plant the Vinca major Variegata seeds ½ inch deep and 1 inch apart, and cover them with soil.
Place the flat or pot in a shady area, on a heat mat set to 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Maintain evenly moist soil throughout germination. Vinca major Variegata seeds germinate within 30 days, sometimes as soon as two weeks.
Transplant the seedlings into individual containers when they have three sets of leaves.
