Instructions

    • 1

Select the location where the ivy will start to climb. Choose wisely for the best location of an indoor potted plant because once the ivy is trained to the string, the pot can’t be moved easily. Pound a nail into the wall and leave 1/2 inch of the nail protruding.

    • 2

Secure the end of the string around the protruding nail with a knot.

    • 3

Pound the second nail into the wall 12 inches from the first nail. Wrap the string once below the head of the nail and push the string as close to the head of the nail as possible. The gap between the nail and the wall allows the ivy room to wrap around the string.

    • 4

Continue to pound nails into the wall and attaching string in the direction you’d like the ivy to climb.

    • 5

Gently guide new growth to coil around the string.
