Zenobia Sunflower Seeds

Sunflower seeds are a crispy, convenient snack, commonly available at grocers and convenience stores. Zenobia is just one of the companies that produces sunflower seed snacks, but the company claims its product offers a tastier advantage over others.
  1. Company Information

    • Zenobia Company, LLC is a wholesale nuts company located in the Bronx, New York. The company has processed sunflower seeds and other snacks since 1926. Some of its other offerings include candied and chocolate-covered nuts, almonds and Brazilian nuts.

    Ingredients and Nutrition

    • Zenobia sunflower seeds contain only sunflower seeds, unless salted. Salted versions contain salt and corn starch. A 1-oz. serving of sunflower seeds contains 150 calories, 15 g of total fat, 6 g of total carbohydrates and 7 g of protein.

    Roasting Process

    • Zenobia claims that some other sunflower seed processors soak the shells in a brine before roasting them. The company claims it has a better roasting process where it salts the outside shell and places it through a batch roasting process. This makes the seeds crisper and easier to open.
