How to Change the Color of Queen Anne's Lace

Queen Anne's Lace, also known as the wild carrot, is a common weed that produces clusters of small white flowers. You can easily change the colors of the flowers with food coloring to make custom flower arrangements for your home. The cut end of the Queen Anne's Lace will draw up the food coloring into the petals, dying them a subtle shade of whatever color you select.

Instructions

    • 1

Fill a mason jar halfway with two parts water to one part food coloring. The food coloring can be any color you want. Shake the jar side to side gently to mix the food coloring into the water evenly.

    • 2

Cut the Queen Anne's Lace with a pair of scissors, leaving at least 6 inches of stem below the blossom. Lower the cut stem into the jar of water and food coloring.

    • 3

Leave the jar with the flowers in a sunny spot for five hours. The stems will draw the colored water up into the petals, changing the color of the petals.
